- קְווּצּוֹתf. (b. h. קְוֻצּ׳; קָוַץ) curls, locks. Ned.9b וקְווּצּוֹתָיו סדורות תלתלים and his curly hair was arranged in locks; Y. ib. I, 36d bot.; Tosef.Naz.IV, 7; Y. ib. R. s. 26 העמדת … בעל ק׳ … מסלסל קווצותיו thou didst put up for them Elijah, the curly-headed man, and they sneered and laughed at him, (saying,) behold , v. סִלְסֵל; Yalk. Jer. 262.Masc. form: קְווּצִּין. Deut. R. s. 2 תפיסת קורצין (corr. acc.; ed. Wil. תפיסות) the front hair cut so as to form ‘a handle of the locks (a gentile custom, v. בְּלוּרִית).
